Terms of service

These terms govern your use of OCR.so, including document processing, page credits, and downloaded OCR results.

Your account

You are responsible for the accuracy of your account details, maintaining the security of your sign-in methods, and activity performed through your account. You must be legally able to enter into this agreement.

Your documents

You keep ownership of your documents and grant OCR.so only the limited permission needed to process, store temporarily, and return the requested OCR result.

Acceptable use

You must have the right to upload and process each document. Do not use the service for unlawful content, credential theft, malware, abuse, or violations of another person’s privacy or intellectual property.

Credits and processing

One credit covers one successfully completed page. Credits are reserved at submission, with a five-credit minimum for each completed document. The minimum is waived while a result is partial and is applied only if a retry completes the document. Unused reservations are released after a partial result, failure, or cancellation. Prices and refund terms are shown before checkout. Purchased credits do not expire. Our refund policy explains when a purchase may be refunded.

Payment provider and taxes

Lemon Squeezy acts as our authorized reseller and merchant of record for credit purchases. Lemon Squeezy processes the payment, may calculate and collect applicable sales tax or VAT, and may present additional payment terms at checkout. OCR.so never stores your full card or bank details.

OCR accuracy

OCR can contain mistakes, especially with poor scans, complex layouts, handwriting, or uncommon scripts. Results should be reviewed before legal, financial, medical, or other consequential use.

Availability and responsibility

We work to keep OCR.so available and secure, but do not promise uninterrupted service or error-free results. To the extent permitted by law, OCR.so is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service or OCR output.

Suspension and changes

We may suspend accounts used for abuse, fraud, unlawful activity, or material violations of these terms. We may update these terms as the service evolves; material changes will be posted here with a new effective date.
