Privacy policy

Customer documents stay customer documents. This policy explains what OCR.so collects, why we collect it, and how long we keep it.

No training on your data

We do not use uploaded documents, extracted text, OCR results, or diagnostic artifacts to train or improve models. This guarantee applies to every customer and every plan.

Short retention

Source files, page artifacts, diagnostics, and Markdown results are stored for no more than 7 days. You can delete a document at any time to remove those files sooner.

What we retain

We retain account, payment, credit-ledger, and operational records needed to run the service, prevent abuse, resolve billing issues, and meet legal obligations. Normal database records do not contain extracted document text.

Information we collect

We collect the account details you provide, sign-in information, purchase and credit history, uploaded documents, OCR results, and limited technical logs needed to secure and operate the service. Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record, handles payment details directly. OCR.so does not store your full card or bank details.

How information is used

We use this information to authenticate your account, process documents, deliver results, take payment, prevent abuse, troubleshoot failures, and provide customer support. We do not sell personal information.

Service providers

We share only the information necessary with providers that support authentication, payments, hosting, storage, and OCR processing. For purchases, Lemon Squeezy receives the account and transaction information needed to provide checkout, tax, fraud prevention, receipts, and refunds under its own privacy terms.

Limited access

Documents are private to the account owner. Exceptional administrator inspection requires a stated reason and creates an immutable audit record.

Your choices

You can delete documents from your account at any time. You may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, subject to records we must retain for security, payment, fraud prevention, or legal obligations.
